Beyond Spring – Wanderings through Nature by Matthew Oates is one of 5 shortlisted books for the coveted COUNTRY BOOK OF THE YEAR – run by BBC Countryfile magazine. More details here
In celebration of this – and also in the hope to improve the book’s chances of winning (as the winner is chosen by public vote) we would like to offer anyone residing in the UK a discounted copy at £8 which includes p&p. Go here!
Or if you would prefer a limited edition hardback copy (one of only 250 in the world) at £30 incl p&P go here
As a tiny press (actually it is just me here – working voluntarily on books I believe improve the world) the book doesn’t actually have much of a chance of winning – it only came out in October, I had distributor issues which slowed things down, and well – I don’t have a marketing department!
So – do take a chance and buy the book if you haven’t read it.
And if you already love it – please
- leave an amazon review if you are happy to do so
- vote for Beyond Spring anytime between 19th January and 5th March
- share emails, fb, twitter, instagram so I can spread the word, and the joy in nature that Matthew’s books so wonderfully brings to the fore. One person on facebook this morning wrote “It takes me back to the books which sparked my interest in nature half a century ago – it’s putting the magic back for me.” and everyone else is writing its a wonderful book, they love it, and so on.
It took Matthew a long time to write – almost of all of it is written while he is there in the piece of nature he is writing about – that comes through
I have spent 7 solid months working on the book, finding extracts and poems from living poets that support and feed Matthew’s beautiful prose along with the dead poets such as Matthew’s beloved Edward Thomas, Wordsworth, Coleridge…
We have had such a joyful time nurturing the book – and these next few months is a perfect time for you to read the book 🙂 It will get you through these last few months of winter x
