A Sample Poem:
The girl in the spider’s heart John Siddique
She loves the spider that lives in the corner,
under the bookshelf, down by the plug switches.
Every night she sits on the couch watching the telly.
Spider comes out to go for his walk across the mat.
She never bothers the spider.
The spider never bothers her,
but the spider is in her heart;
she loves the spider.
Spider loves the girl who sits on the couch every evening,
eating her pasta salad as she watches the telly.
Every night he crosses the white mat on his rounds,
slipping under the door and into the night’s business.
Spider never bothers the girl.
The girl never bothers the spider,
but the girl is in his heart;
imagine the size of a spider’s heart.
