Description

#MeToo – rallying against sexual assault and harassment: A women’s poetry anthology – edited by poet Deborah Alma

A FREE PDF OF THE AWARD-WINNING BOOK

“#MeToo – what a wonderful anthology it is. And such a necessary book”    MENNA ELFYN
“Timely, human and political – and generously raising funds as well as awareness”    KAITE O’REILLY
“This collection is quite the rollercoaster: it made me cry with sadness – and with joy. I salute the courage of the women who have shared the pain of sexual harassment in verse that is lyrical, poignant and powerful. And I am also grateful to those who have shared their more hopeful experience in the poems that conclude this brilliant anthology.  They have managed to find resolution and peace – as will readers of this outstanding collection.”

Rachel Kelly – Author of ‘Black Rainbow: How words can heal – my journey through depression’ and mental health campaigner.

“I love poetry and I love women’s voices being heard so I love that this anthology exists. Buy it, share it: educate and empower yourself and support one of the most important movements of our time.”

Emma Gannon – Author and Ctrl Alt Delete podcast host

“This book contains the poetry of necessity and truth, exploding into the light, where it goddamn belongs.
Please read these poems and then decide in what order you want to 1) cry 2) march 3) scream with relief and recognition 4) grab a sword-pen and write your own.”

Amanda Palmer – Singer-songwriter and author of NY Times bestseller The Art of Asking

“We have finally reached a time where a great many women can share their stories without fear and be heard, understood and believed. I can’t think of anything more inspirational or powerful for a poetry anthology”

Dolly Alderton – Journalist. Writer. Director.

The Bookseller magazine  ran an article about this book on 7th February 2018

The Manchester Review – “Anyone have the courage and vision to make it a set-text in schools and colleges?”

“It is a powerful, timely book which harks back to Maya Angelou’s ‘And Still I Rise and forward to a time when women’s voices are valued and validated.”

Sue Mackrell – Poet. Feminist. #MeToo.

“That these experiences have been part of the life of these friends, saddens me and deepens my respect for them.”

Nick Allen more here

A brand new collection of largely new work, that rose up directly out of the collective rage from the #MeToo campaign on social media around the world at the end of 2017.

These poems are painful, angry, often difficult to bear, but the result of these voices singing together is one that is beautiful, full of sisterhood, strength, and recovery.

Enough tears. Enough silence. It was all of us but we
never knew. Sisters, take my hands, we can say it together:
me too
                      me too
                                             me too.
