Public Astronomer at Stratford Literary Festival 29 April 2016

Dr Marek Kukula

I am so excited about this – poets Emma Purshouse, myself Nadia Kingsley and musician Giancarlo Facchinetti are going to meet, then be on stage with the Public Astronomer Dr Marek Kukula.

We will perform excerpts of e-x-p-a-n-d-i-n-g: The History of the Universe in 45 minutes (minus Professor Trevor Ponman … we thought it safer to keep two astrophysicists from colliding on stage…) – this time not in a mobile planetarium dome that could only house an audience of twenty – but under the glorious wooden dome of Stratford Arthouse that houses over two hundred 🙂

There will be astonishing images from the Insight Astronomy Photographer of the Year competition

The Intimate Universe

Dr Marek Kukula will be talking about his new book The Intimate Universe:

in which he shows how everything on Earth – from the ground beneath our feet to the technology in our pockets – has origins in space.

It is going to be an exciting and completely unique event.

Tickets are £10 and are available here – come and join us !

Thank you Annie Ashworth for having such a wonderful idea !!!!  Nadia x
