Poetry & Music day, Mid Wales Arts Centre, 2nd July

Just wanted to share this information from the lovely Cathy Knapp who runs Mid Wales Arts Centre in Caersws, Nadia x:

SUNDAY 2ND JULY

     A day full of poetry and music

Local Musician, Poet and Printmaker, Jeb Loy Nichols back from touring in Europe, will be playing numbers from his newly released album ‘COUNTRY HUSTLE’ accompanied by Clovis Phillips. Jeb is originally from Missouri, he studied in New York and lived in London before moving to Mid Wales 17 years ago.. ‘Country Hustle’ is a potent,mix of southern soul, country, blues, funk and folk, with a some hip hop, dub and 80/90s club sounds.

Local teacher and published, prizewinning poet Nicky Hetherington will launch her first collection of poetry.  This promises to be an afternoon of gentle, thought provoking words and music. 

From 11:00 – 1:30 There will be a creative writing workshop  led by Nicky Hetherington exploring the connection between art and the local countryside. 

1:30 – 3:00 a lunch time buffet will be available: £6 and afternoon tea at 4:00 – 4:30 for £3. Please indicate when booking if a buffet or tea ticket is required.

3:00 – 4:00 Nicky Hetherington and Jeb Loy Nichols will read from their recent publications, followed by an open mic session welcoming anyone who wishes to read.

5:00 – 7:00 there will be an evening concert featuring Jeb Loy Nichols and Clovis Phillips and special guests.

All- day ticket for all 3 events: £10 adults / £7.50 U16 Workshop ticket £3 adults / £1 U16s

Afternoon poetry and open mic ticket £5 adults / £3 U16s Evening concert £5 for both adults and U16s
